Overview of Dr. Scott
Charles Scott, MD is a Sports and Dance Medicine physician at New York-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley and an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He developed an interest in musculoskeletal medicine while working professionally as a dancer with the companies of Jose Limon and Bill T. Jones. Dr. Scott specializes in the management of musculoskeletal injuries in pediatric and adult dancers and athletes. His approach to care is collaborative and personalized, guided by patients' personal goals for recovery. He believes in the rehabilitative process as a catalyst for personal growth, enhanced body knowledge, and movement awareness in movers of all levels. He uses diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound as an extension of the physical examination and employs a variety of ultrasound-guided interventions, including regenerative treatments such as shockwave therapy, prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.
